We regularly welcome customers in our shop who have brought their old gold. Sometimes these are very old jewelry, heirlooms, or simply gold that was once received or bought that is no longer used. To determine the value of the gold that you bring, we go through a number of steps. First, we assess the jewelry itself. Perhaps the jewelry itself is very suitable for resale. Then the jewelry qualifies for our used jewelry. Used jewelry is jewelry that you no longer use, but that can still be used for a second time. We appraise the jewelry and it ends up in our used jewelry display case. There, the jewelry is sold for half the new price and you receive half of that again. Often, the jewelry then brings in more than if you would sell it as material for the gold price.
If the piece of jewellery is not suitable for occasions: for example, it is broken, or engraved, or too old, we will assess the gold value. We look with a magnifying glass at the gold markings and from that we can determine how many carats of gold it is. Then we weigh the gold. If stones or other materials are incorporated, we deduct an estimate of that weight from the total weight. Depending on the weight, you can receive the gold price from us in cash, or choose to spend the amount in our store at a discount.
