Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean SRPF77K1

The 'Save The Ocean' collaboration with Fabien Cousteau, the grandson of the famous underwater conservationist Jacques Cousteau, has been running since 2018. As in the past, a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of these new watches would go to the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning. Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of ways to protect ocean habitats and marine life.

The two featured Seiko watch models remain the same as the previous 'Save The Ocean' models, SRPF77 King Turtle and SRPF79 King Samurai . Since the SRPF77 is based on the King Turtle model, you can expect the usual stainless steel 45mm turtle watch case with brushed and polished finishes, along with the crown at 4 o'clock.

New updates you'll find on the SRPF77 include the new blue-gray gradient dial, along with this year's 'Save The Ocean' featured species, manta rays. Another update worth mentioning with the SRPF77 is the sapphire crystal with magnifying glass over the day-date, and a black ceramic insert to pair with the dark blue dial.

The silicone strap that comes with the SRPF77 comes in the same dark blue color that was used on the dial. The Seiko Prospex Turtle "Save the Ocean" Dark Manta Ray Special Edition SRPF77K1 dive watch takes classic design features of dive watches and combines them with iconic design features and elements of its vintage dive watches, making them even more attractive to Seiko enthusiasts.

4R36 Seiko Movement

The 4R36 Seiko caliber with day/date display is a mechanical caliber. The watch automatically charges itself while worn by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the mainspring of the watch to be wound. This spring is the energy source. Manual winding is also possible.

When the watch is fully charged, it has an energy reserve of approximately 41 hours. The ticking number of this automatic is 21,600 per hour and the watch has 24 jewels. The 4R caliber is manufactured entirely in-house.
